Through a series of six sessions we will explore both fundamental and advanced practices of Buddhist and Taoist Qigong, learning some of the philosophy and history of Qigong and, in the end, each participant will have a basket or collection of exercises to draw from in order to begin a personal practice.

Session 2: A continuation of practices, forms, and review of what was learned in the previous session with a continual deepening of each of the exercises. We will begin learning the form, the Eight Brocade and continue to learn and explore Animal Frolics.

Session 3: We will always work with the fundamentals of certain focuses: postural alignment, breath and mind focus. Complete the cycle of the Eight Brocade. Begin practicing simple non moving standing forms. More Animal Frolics.
Greenwich: Thursday, April 23rd from 2:30-4pm
Westport: Friday, April 24th from 12:30-2pm
Session 4: Explore the connectivity of the martial arts and the healing aspects of Qigong. Continue practicing the 8 Brocade and The Animal Frolics. And begin to explore the series called The 9 Phases.
Greenwich: Thursday, April 30th from 2:30-4pm
Westport: Friday, May 1st from 12:30-2pm
Session 5: Gathering a basket of practices with personal recommendations for injuries or chronic issues both physical, emotional, spiritual. Continue with the 9 Phases. Review The 8 Brocade. And, always, some Animal Frolics.

Westport: Friday, May 8th from 12:30-2pm
Session 6: Review and practice of the two major forms we will have focused on, The 8 Brocade and The 9 Phases. Clarification of "baskets of practice". Exploring the challenges of building and maintaining a practice. How to continue, where to go for further practice and classes, books, sources, other teachers, etc. Where to practice and when, best ideas.
Greenwich: Thursday, May 14th from 2:30-4pm
Westport: Friday, May 15th from 12:30-2pm
There will be plenty of time for questions and answers, especially in the learning phases of any form. Several beautiful individual forms will be thrown in as spices in a recipe for practicing alone or added into a session. Also, ideas for how to integrate Qigong into ones life, not only as a daily practice but actually throughout a day or even the night.
